Equipment Overview:
Melt flow rate meter is used to determine the melt flow rate of thermoplastics (MFR; units: g/10min) instrument. For polyethylene, polypropylene, polyoxymethylene, ABS resin, polycarbonate, nylon, plastics and other polymers fluoride melt flow rate at high temperature determination.

How it works:
Melt flow rate meter is in the specified temperature conditions, with high-temperature furnace to melt the state of the measured object. The molten state of the measured object, the required weight load by gravity out of a certain diameter hole in the test. Plastics in industrial enterprises and scientific research units of production, often with "melt (mass) flow rate" to represent the polymer material in the molten state of fluidity, viscosity and other physical properties. Melt flow rate refers to the extrudate, the average quality of the sample paragraphs are translated into 10 minutes of extrusion volume. Melt (mass) flow rate expressed by MFR, unit: g / 10 minutes (g / min)

Formula: MFR (θ, mnom) = tref × m / t = 600 × m / t (g/10min)
Where: θ - test temperature
mnom - Nominal Load Kg
m - the average quality of cut g
tref - reference time (10min): 600
t - cut off time interval unit: seconds.

 Example:

A set of plastic samples, a cut every 30 seconds, the quality of the results section: 0.081 g, 0.086 g, 0.081 grams, 0.089 grams, 0.082 grams.
Cut the average quality m = (0.081 +0.086 +0.081 +0.089 +0.082) ÷ 5 = 0.0838 ≈ 0.084 (g)
Into the formula: MFR = 600 × 0.084/30 = 1.680 (g / 10 min)
